Monitor Fallbacksystems which should not be powered on

Hi,

I've got some systems, especially in departments in other countries, which have a backupsystem set up - in case of hardware failure, I'll ask an employee there to simply power it on.

Anyway, it happens from time to time that systems get powered on when I dont want them to - especially the fallback-router gave me some serious headache when getting powered on and firing up its DHCP.

So, naturally, I started monitoring them via ping - but I don't like the fact that a non-responsive ping, which is what I want, gets the alarm counter up.

Is there any way to get the sensor green when the ping fails and red when it's fired up?

thanks.

Hi,
in general it is not possible to revert the sensor logic. However, there might be a workaround as you could create a reverse ping sensor to get notified if machines are powered on.
Best regards
