Can PRTG check for an email NOT being sent?

Votes:

0

My customer has to send an email to their client every day with a status report, and has a strict SLA to send the email within a particular time window every day (i.e. between 15:00 & 16:00).

Can you think of a way to alert IF the email is not sent? I think it might be possible to use the IMAP sensor, but can't think how we might trigger an alert if something hasn't happened?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks, Ian

Hi Ian,
the only way, I can think of, to monitor this would be adding a BCC to the email sent out which sends a copy of the same to a separate inbox. This inbox then can be monitored using the IMAP sensor which is able to alarm you if no email has been received for a certain time.
Best regards
