No such instance (SNMP error # 223)

I am able to retrieve the SNMP information RFC1213-mib using the SnmpB tool but when I add these variables to the PRTG I get No such instance (SNMP error # 223) errors messages.

I have tried using auto discovery and manually adding the OIDs 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.8 and none of them work.

This is what is retrieved by the SnmpB tool.

1: sysDescr.0 Raven XE EV-DO

Please run a "Custom OID" test against the device and OID in case, using our SNMP Tester. What results do you get?

The OID in case doesn't seem to be available on the device. Instead of running a "Scan OIDLIB" test, could you please run a "Walk" using the base OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.2? What results does that yield?

You tried to use "1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2." The "." at the end of the oid causes this error to occur. Please see what happens, if you remove it and perform the walk again.

If you run a "Custom OID" test with the SNMP Tester, using 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.8.1, does that also result in an error?

What we imagine is the issue here is that the device is only reacting to a getnext (walk), but not to a normal get request. Are you able to access the OID using a different program using a get request (e.g. the netsnmp tools)?

When I "Get" the OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.8.1 using SnmpB it returns:

-----SNMP query started-----
1: ifOperStatus.1 2686916
-----SNMP query finished-----
Total # of Requests = 1
Total # of Objects = 1

When I walk OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.8 using SnmpB it returns:

-----SNMP query started-----
1: ifOperStatus.1 up(1)
-----SNMP query finished-----
Total # of Requests = 2
Total # of Objects = 2

When I walk OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2 using SnmpB it returns:

-----SNMP query started-----
1: ifIndex.1 1
2: ifDescr.1 Sierra Wireless Ethernet Port
3: ifType.1 ethernetCsmacd(6)
4: ifMtu.1 1500

It would seem that running the get via SnmpB also returns a wrong response, as shown:

SnmpB Get: ifOperStatus.1 2686916 (wrong) SnmpB Walk: ifOperStatus.1 up(1) (correct)

As such, it would seem this is a general issue with the device. Please check on the same with the vendor in case.
