We have 2 nodes in the cluster, one is master and one is failover. We want to create a new master node and have the same configuration with the old master node then convert this to a failover node without loosing data history?

Hello, you need firstly to break up the existing cluster :

https://kb.paessler.com/knowledgebase/en/topic/41903 -> STEP1 (only convert the failover node to standalone - as you want to keep your cluster data on the master node)

and now shutdown your failover node.

Then please delete the Failover Node settings in the Master Node on the Cluster page (Setup -> Systemadministration-> Cluster)

Then migrate your PRTG Master node to the new Master System:

https://www.paessler.com/knowledgebase/en/topic/413

and then let the old master node join as failover node: https://kb.paessler.com/knowledgebase/en/topic/41903 -> STEP 3
