Time Sync Events

Afternoon Paessler,

The Windows server that our PRTG install sits on drifts by one second a day, at 14:01. As a result I am going to schedule a Windows task to sync the server time with our company NTP server at 14:03.

Will this have any impact on PRTG or will it just result in the loss of 1 second worth of data? We are running Windows Server 2008 R2.

Many thanks for your help,

Rob

Hello,

thank you very much for your KB-Post. As long as the sync-shift is significantly less than the scanning interval(s) of your sensors there should be a problem. It would mean though a 1second more or less in measuring, so it could be measuring 61 seconds of traffic instead of 60.

best regards.
