Dear Paessler and users,

I was wondering how I could accomplish that I can monitor the network connection between two servers. I tried to find a solution, but I coulnd't find one since I'm new with this application. Is there anyone here who could provide me the information I need, and of this is possible or not?

Kind regards, Martijn

Hello,

thank you very much for your KB-Post. There is no simple answer to this question. The approach depends completely on the setup and topology of your network as well as the software and hardware used. Please have a look at the following article: How do I discern excessive bandwidth usage with PRTG?.

You would either need Flow-Capable network hardware between the two servers to get traffic information via flows (for these two servers). Or at least install one Remote Probe on one of the servers to do Packet Sniffing then.

best regards.
