PRTG HTTP probe and Kerberos

Hello,

We've got a couple of pages we want to monitor on an IIS but the problem is that they use Internet Explorer integrated login with Kerberos. Is there some way of monitoring these, I've tried with Basic and NTLM autentication but to no avail ?

best regards Advania AB Thomas Björklund

Hello.

The current version of PRTG does not support a Kerberos login.

It's 2020 and still no Kerberos support, our IIS websites have NTLM disabled due to security reasons and we can't monitor them anymore.

I know it's currently not on the roadmap, but have you considered this internally?

Dear stiwa_schd,

the demand for Kerberos support for HTTP is currently not on a level that it would get onto the roadmap. With the technology progressing, sensors are constantly reviewed in order to determine if new features have to be added. For each PRTG release, we want to provide the most benefit for most users; we look on the demand and prioritize accordingly.

As of now, Kerberos support for HTTP has been discussed internally. "Considered" could be understood that it had a realistic chance of implementation, but as of now, other features are in much higher demand. Of course with the market ever-changing, features get re-evaluated on a regular basis.
