Automatically add new sensor

Votes:

Hi,

I would like to know if its possible to automatically add one type sensor(SNMP Traffic Sensor) when a port becomes active. This because our customer pays for every connection. And is it also possible to delete a sensor automatically when it's inactive for 30 days?

Regards, Mark

For the deletion, you would have to write a script that would read if there are any values not coming back with data and then use the API to delete them but to create new interfaces, you could set up PRTG to run an Auto-Discovery on the device and any new connected interfaces would be added to the devices.

If you only want to have SNMP Traffic sensors to be added to the device, you should create a device template with only those sensors and then PRTG will only try and add those sensors to the device.
