Hi All,

Can anyone provide a list of common causes for the errors encountered below:

This is an smtp sensor for exchange 2010

21/04/2014 12:04:39 Socket Error # 10061  Connection refused. (will keep trying)
21/04/2014 12:07:19 10 connection attempts failed with error Socket Error # 10061  Connection refused. (will keep trying)
21/04/2014 12:10:00 20 connection attempts failed with error Socket Error # 10061  Connection refused. (will keep trying)
21/04/2014 12:12:40 30 connection attempts failed with error Socket Error # 10061  Connection refused. (will keep trying)
21/04/2014 12:15:21 40 connection attempts failed with error Socket Error # 10061  Connection refused. (will keep trying)
21/04/2014 12:18:01 50 connection attempts failed with error Socket Error # 10061  Connection refused. (will keep trying)

Hello,

thank you very much. Usually "Socket Error # 10061 Connection refused."-Errors are caused by blocking firewalls. Or wrong target settings (so the target, is actually not a SMTP-Server, or uses a different port). It could also be that the HELO is not accepted by the target SMTP-Server, or that the host of the PRTG Probe (running this SMTP-Sensor) is not allowed to connect to SMTP servers.
