Sort devices by IP address?

Votes:

0

I have all of my devices named for their IP address.. this is how we used to identify what office is what network, old habits die hard I guess..

When I right-click the group and choose sort automatically, the IP addresses do not get sorted correctly (I have this same problem in Excel).

So we look at the devices being sorted like this:

172.16.1.1 172.16.2.1 172.16.200.1 172.16.201.1 172.16.202.1 172.16.3.1 172.16.4.1

Any way around this?

The "Sort Alphabetically" option still sorts the device as mentioned above. If you want the a different order of the devices you can manually arrange them in the "Management" tab per Grag&Drop.

Thanks, I have done that in the normal devices view, but the issue is I use the sunburst dashboard and we name devices by ip address. So unfortunately the devices are out of order and I can find no way to alter the order in the sunburst.

For example it shows the order as: 192.168.20.8, 192.168.21.11, 192.168.21.12, 192.168.21.13, 192.168.21.2, 192.168.21.3....etc...

I would like the .11, .12, .13 to follow in numerical order.

Thank you

Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the order of the devices in the sunburst map object.
