One sensor for 4 device

Votes:

Hello,

My problem is that a customer has 4 VMWare device (esxii-xxx). Each of the esxi have the same datastore. The datastore is monitored 4 times.

Is it possible to monitor it only one time ? I mean with "link" sensor or something like that.

The problem is that I have 4 warnings that are only one. But if one esxi is down I still want to have the datastore status.

Any idea ?

Hello,

thank you very much for your KB-Post. I'm afraid the 4 sensors have to be used here. A "link", so that only one sensor is monitoring the datastore, and the other 3 use the result, will not really help. The problem would be the risk, that the ESX goes down, which has the one proper sensor. So please use 4 sensors here, and maybe a longer scanning interval, to reduce the load towards the datastore.

best regards.
