User Agent String

Hello,

We want to use a default User Agent String for all our sensors (not only HTTP advanced) in PRTG Network Monitor. In the KB I found the topic: https://kb.paessler.com/en/topic/16873-version-8-user-agent, is that still valid for version 14? And if yes, what exactly should be added to the registry?

Regards

http prtg user-agent-string

Hello,

thank you very much for your KB-Post. The registry hack is not necessary anymore. In current PRTG 14.x versions you can enter the User Agent-String directly in the Settings of HTTP Advanced Sensors.

best regards.

Hello Torsten,

As mentioned in my post, we want to use it for all the HTTP sensors, not only the HTTP advanced sensor. Is that possible?

Regards, Erik

Sorry, this registry-hack might still work anymore in PRTG 14. So please use HTTP Advanced Sensors instead.

The default user string is

Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; PRTG Network Monitor (www.paessler.com); Windows)

However, we also found that the registry hack might still work. I apologise for the confusion.

What exactly then should be added to the registry?

It's

32bit: \software\Paessler\PRTG Network Monitor\Server
64bit: \software\WoW6432Node\Paessler\PRTG Network Monitor\Server
Key (String): useragent
