Event Log sensor notifications

Have there been changes in the way Event log alarms are triggered? Previously we set up Event log sensors and they (State) triggered notifications when the log entry appeared. I'm now reading https://www.paessler.com/manuals/ipcheck_server_monitor/eventlogsensorlocalorremote and it says only 'On Change' notifications are triggered for event log sensors. In my confusion, I then read further things that say a state trigger should work but I need to set my channel limits to be > 0.0001. It looks like I need to set the channel limits on all my event log sensors as I've never had to do that before. I'm therefore confused and wondered if something had changed? Can an expert clarify this for me? Thanks in advance.

Setting up the channel limits is the best way for you to get an alert when there are changes. The change sensor should also work as long as the filters are set up correctly. The article you read there was for a much older version of PRTG. Both methods should work for that sensor type though.
