IMAP sensor setup

Votes:

Hi I am trying to setup the IMAP sensor to check my backup log emails, to check for failed/successful backups etc. I have read the post about setting it up and it seems straight forward...but I always get the connection refused. I am very confused, as nowhere do I put the server that I am trying to connect to. We use Hosted Exchange 365, so the server is [ IMAP4 outlook.office365.com 993 SSL ] Where do I put the name of the server the mailbox lives on?

I am obviously missing something.

Thanks in advance for your help

When you want to create a sensor like this, you will want to create a "device" with the address of the mail server that you want to connect to to check this mailbox. In this case, you will want to use the address of the outlook office and then set up your authentication to that server.

Once you have set up the authentication, PRTG should be able to connect to the server to read through the emails.

ah, I think that must be what I'm doing wrong, I have just been adding sensor. That makes much more sense. Thanks for your help, I will set up device and hopefully that will work a treat.
