I am trying to add a new device. It is one of our core switches. I am new to the software and was looking for some assistance please. I have already spent several days working with Cisco TAC and determined the issue to be on the network. I am trying to add SNMP traps to the switch 10.XX.XX.XX and I get the following error - Socket Error # 11001 Host not found. Our firewall is inside the switch. Any help would be great.

prtg snmp-#11001 wmi

Dear Mr. Schufletowski

Are you using the device's IP, or are you using the DNS name to setup this device? It could be that the probe is not resolving the DNS name correctly.

Also, have you made sure that PRTG is allowed to execute those commands with any anti-virus that you may have running on the system?

Can you ping the target device?
