Netflow v9 sensor does not collect all flows

Votes:

Hello, i implemented the Netflow-sensor and let it collect flows for a usual busniess day. But it seems to me that there was too little traffic (about 10GB). So i installed another Netflow-collector for testing purpose and it collected about 40GB of traffic. I set the active-flow-timeout on 5 minutes which is much higher than the one on the Netflow-exporter. Does someone now why there is such a big difference?

Regards, Jan R.

Hello,

Are you using the NetFlow v5 (v9) sensor or the NetFlow (Custom) Sensor? Do you use any filters in the sensor settings?

Best regards

Hello Felix,

I've tried with both sensors (v9 and Custom/no filters). The problem is the same with both of them.

Hello,

Please forward the Probe State Files to [email protected] and refer to this knowledge base article. Please forward the files from the Probe where you installed the Flow sensor We will have a look if any NetFlow packets are dropped.

Best regards
