Can we change dependency settings on multiple sensors via the muti-edit function?

When selecting multiple sensors in a device using the multi-edit function, we would like to be able to change the dependency settings for the selected sensors.

At present we have multiple sensors on secondary devices (ie not the primary device in the group) where we want to make the dependancy on these sensors the ping of the secondary (ie non primary)device in a group.

We are aware that we can set the ping sensor of the secondary device in the group as the master object for the secondary device, but we want to make the secondary device dependent on the ping of the primary device in the group and not set it as the master object for the other sensors of that secondary device. Otherwise we are left with a scenario where the primary device goes down but we will receive triggered alerts from all devices in the group if the secondary devices in the group are not dependent on the primary.

Please can you advise how we can easily configure multiple sensors on secondary devices so that they are dependent on the ping of the secondary device, but also have the secondary device dependency pointing at the ping primary device in a group. At present we are having to go into each sensor (not ping) on a secondary device and configure it manually to point to the ping of the secondary device, which is incredibly time consuming.

Dear pch,

I'm afraid that there are no current plans to integrate a multi-edit support for dependencies. We decided to not integrate such functionality; changes can easily create dependency loops which can get really hard to troubleshoot and resolve, especially in large environments with hundreds of dependencies.

Best regards, Felix
