Remote Sniffer

Hello. I've successfully installed PRTG to use it as network sensor (using sniffer probe with a switch span port), initially to replace an old ntop machine. It works very good. I have another switch into another server room, that I need to monitor, I'd like to use a local server as network sniffer: is it possible to use a server without prtg as network sniffer? This would permit to centralize monitoring in a single server. Thanks Daniele

Hi,

you can install a remote probe on the server in the other server room.

This probe can then also get the packet sniffer sensor.
