How to exclude poison and retry queues in MSMQ

Votes:

Hi,

we have used MSMQ Monitor for some time but it has some limitations which I hope one of you can help me with.

If I monitor a MSMQ queue and set a maxlimit off 20 messages then PRTG with read all subdirectories including poison and retry folder and return the result.

Is there a way to exclude the poison and retry folder from monitoring?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Milo,

As there is no setting to exclude particular groups from the MSMQ, I would recommend to remove the read access rights of those folders from the Windows User used in PRTG. This way PRTG should ignore the poison and retry folder as they are not shown for this user.

Best regards
