How can we monitor specific type of traffic like, HTTP,FTP,SMTP etc

I am using SNMP Bandwidth monitoring feature. that gives me total bandwidth against specific ip, can i filter that traffic to know what type of traffic he used like.. which urls, or ftp or smtp traffic....

waiting for Guru response :)

Hi there,

Unfortunately, the SNMP protocol does not offer information like the protocol type and Sender / Recipient address. Please have a look at This Article for some examples.
