PRTG Core Server installed on target machine

Hello,

I have 2 probes in my PRTG, 1 Probe which is curently supervising only from madison and 1 probe which is curently supervising in cluster from madison (USA) and Lyon (France).

I would like to have a third probe which is supervising only from Lyon but when i want to add it with this tutorial https://www.paessler.com/manuals/prtg/remote_probe_quick_install ,I have the message : "Done. Result is: FAILED. Can not install remote probe. Reason: PRTG Core Server installed on target machine."

So how can i supervising a device only from Lyon (France)?

Hi,

It is just possible to install one Probe on each device. As each Core installation also contains a so called Local Probe you will not be able to add an additional Remote Probe to this server.

In order to monitor the network in Lyon, you will need to install the Remote Probe on another machine.
