Is it possible to run a script when sending SMS messages?

Votes:

I've logged a call with Paessler support but haven't so far got any reply. My question is:

I have a script that will send SMS messages via the command line accepting the destination number as a parameter. But when I go into the "SMS Delivery" under "Notification Delivery" the only option I have is to provide a "Service Provider" URL. Conversely, when I configure a "Execute Program" there is no option to select a user and/or group to use.

I would prefer to be able to run a script when setting up a SMS notification when using the "Send SMS/Pager Message" section of the Notification. This way, I could then use the SMS settings for each technician.

Hello,

The only tested method is to use the "Execute Program" script and include the sms contact details within the script.

The only alternative is to use SMS Delivery and be able to execute your script via an HTTP API call.

I also recommend to review the following Knowledge Base Article - https://kb.paessler.com/en/topic/6463
