Hi, We have running a cluster nodes based environment in our different sites. Total have 2 nodes.

Does anyone could explain to me the bellowing status meaning, due to we found the devices either services were working well when we occurred that sensor warning notification emails?

Such like(I think I have listed all the occurred confused status notice bellowing) ,what are bellowing status means in cluster nodes, and what are the meaning inside of parenthesis

  • Down ended(now: Down Partial)
  • Down ended(now: Warning)
  • Down(was: Down Partial)
  • Down(Partial)
  • Down(was:Warning)

Our operation team are very confused about above meaning. Is there any solution that could avoid this situation?

Thanks in advance

Best Regards, Kelvin

Hello Kelvin, we appreciate your inquiry. There's a Manual Page which lists all sensor states:

PRTG Manual: Sensor States

Regarding the notifications you've inquired about, they're normal operation messages, they try to explain not only the new status of the sensor but also the previous status and if the status is being reported by all or by some monitoring nodes. Please see the table below:

Down ended(now: Down Partial)The sensor was down and is already reachable by some cluster nodes(not all)
Down ended(now: Warning)Sensors was down(most likely due to limits) and returned to the warning range/state
Down(was: Down Partial)The sensor was initially still reachable by one cluster node and now is reported down by all monitoring nodes
Down(Partial)Sensor is down according to some cluster nodes(not all)
Down(was:Warning)The sensor was in the warning state but the status aggravated and is now down (on all nodes)
