HTTP Sensor false alerting

Votes:

Hi

A HTTP sensor keeps on sending false alerts. We are unable to establish why this is happening as we have carried out checks on the server and nothing appears to be flagging up any issues. We have been forced to pause the sensor whilst we investigate.

Can you please advise?

Thanks

Bal

What error do you get from the sensor?

what http sensor are you using?

what are you expecting to see?

There are no error details which makes it all the more difficult to . The sensor is http 7.

It was added when the device was first setup a while back and never really gave us any trouble but recently started to false alert.

what device are you monitoring?

have you tried rebooting the device?

Have rebooted device. The machine is a VM (VMWARE) running Win Svr 2012 64 bit.

it is likely that IIS is running on that server or another application that offers a web interface.

That is probably why the sensor was created during auto discovery.

If you do not need that sensor you can delete it as well if you like.
