Only take sensor down, when other sensor is also down (otherwise pause)

Hello

I want my ping-sensor to be dependent of another ping sensor and only show the down-status (and here's the difference to the dependency setting in PRTG) when the other sensor is also down. Otherwise it can be paused.

We have a setup where our local Probe pings an external host permanently and sometimes the session gets hung up. To not always get false alarms (this happens quite often) we setup an external Miniprobe that pings the same external host from a completely different source. Now we only want the local Probe sensor to alarm if the other sensor from the Miniprobe also goes down. Like that we could prevent false-positives.

Unfortunately the existing dependency function isn't sufficient for this scenario. It would pause our sensor if the other one goes down, and we would miss the real deal. (From the external miniprobe we don't want to have an alarming, as it would be too complex)

Thanks for your input

Hello,

I´m afraid using a dependency won´t work here, sorry. In order to generate a notification if both ping sensors are down, you can use our new Business Process Sensor.
