Monitor com port

I have virtual com-port on a remote probe system and I'd like to have a sensor that shows if the port X is available, because sometimes windows randomly changed that port number and I need to know when it happened. Is there any way using WMI or whatever else to monitor that?

com-port rs232 wmi

Hi Dennis,

Virtual com ports are listed in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Hardware\Devicemap\Serialcomm

You can setup a Windows Registry Sensor to monitor the values here.
