Access Rights Overview

I need a way of generating an overview of permissions in PRTG. Basically, I need a way to report on who has what access to what objects. I am auditing a PRTG installation, and I need to be able to see at a glance, be able to tell my supervisors what an individual, or group, can do in PRTG on a per-object level. I cannot seem to find a way to pull a report on this, and the API only allows pulling of access rights on the user making the API call.

Has anyone been able to do this sort of permissions audit?

Unfortunately it's not possible to have this in an automated report or API-call as you already figured out. Since access rights in the device-tree can be configured only for user-groups (not individual users), you could create some sort of dummy-user in every group. When logging in with this user, you'll be able to either display this user's access rights though an API-call or even easier through Sensors | Cross Reference | .... This will reflect for each object the user's access right (Full, Read only, None etc.).

Kind regards.
