Any sensor can monitor web site defacement? Is the "Content Changes" in HTTP advanced sensor could detect it?
Best Answer
Hi,
Can you forward the URL of one dynamic site so that we can test it in our environment?

Hi,
The Content Changes of the HTTP Advanced Sensor will activate the so called Change Trigger to send a notification if you site changes or gets defaced. The sensor will compare the hash values from the previous and the current scanning result.

Thanks for your reply, Felix. I would like to know is the "Content Changes" apply on static web page only? I tried on my dynamic pages. The change trigger send out notification time to time without defaced.

Sure. Can i send it via private message or email? I don't want to publish the site here. Thanks.

Hi,
May i know if this method (using content changes) on HTTP Advance Sensor, can be used to detect web defacement.? if not can you suggest what method can be used for this purpose. FYI i using PRTG Network Monitor 19.3.51.2830 x64. Thanks.
mrizal,
You just need to toggle the option in the Settings for an HTTP Advanced Sensor under Advanced Sensor Data -> Content Changes to Trigger 'change' notification.
Then you just need to add the change trigger to the sensor in PRTG, with a notification template for how you want to be notified.
