Monitoring Hyper-V on a Windows 2012 Core server

Hi,

We have PRTG installed on a clients Virtual Machine, but wish to monitor the Windows Hyper-V core server too. (The physical server is an HP Proliant Microserver Gen8)

We have managed to get the device added and also added the Hyper-V sensors, so can see the ping/CPU/disk space of the physical server ok, along with the virtual machines running inside, but we'd also like to monitor the physical disks on the server, via the RAID controller.

The iDRAC is not active as far as we know.

What would be the best method of doing this?

We usually monitor a Hyper-V host using SNMP, but using the HP Management software installed, as all of our Hyper-V servers are Windows 2012 R2 (not core) but as this is a Windows Server Core, I'm not sure it can be done?

We can access the CLI version of the HP tools on the core to check disks/RAID config, if it can be done using that?

Thanks James

Best way to do this would be to activate the iDrac and then use our HP Proliant sensors :)

Please also note the corresponding remarks of the sensors.
