IMAP Sensor does not work if subject contains special characters like () and/or []?

Votes:

I use PRTG IMAP Sensor for a few Backupmails. Now I have the problem that it does not find any email in the mailbox which has () or [] in the subject. I tried with string search and regular expression. Could that be a problem? If I configure the Sensor to NOT search for subject, then it is becoming green.

It happens when looking for emails younger than 48hours. But there is one in the mailbox, but as I said with special characters in the subject. If I remove search for subject, it works.

I tested it. Seems to be fine. Must be a different problem.

Hi Thomas,

I'll talk to the developer about this. Which version of PRTG are you currently running?

Kind regards.

Hi Erhard

I think this thread is obsoleete. I am already in contact with your support (Thorsten Lindner at the moment) about my problem with the IMAP Sensor. It does not seem to be a problem with the subject. In fact I have no clue "wo der Hund begraben sein könnte" ;)

But I am running the newest version...always ;)

regards Thomas
