Push Notifications not work on Change Trigger

Votes:

0

I am using a SNMP Custom sensor to monitor a specific value in the MIB. I can see that the monitoring itself is working fine.

I have created a change trigger to email & push notifications however I receive no notifications at all.

I have successfully tested the push notification functionality from the account page.

I've not used change trigger previously so I am wondering if I have missed a step somewhere.

Would appreciate any thoughts.

Cheers

Hiya Malevans,

The change trigger will execute a notification as soon as the status changes i.e. from "okay" to "error". Therefore, you need to configure limits for this sensor. This can either be done in the Sensor Channel Settings after clicking on the respective channel of the sensors, or by using a Custom Lookup File. This should trigger the push notification afterwards.

Fore more information, you can have a look at this article.

Hi Felix - thanks for the reply. That solved my problem perfectly!

I thought that the chnage in the MIB value from 1 to 0 would be regarded as a change in state but it makes sense to me now that I need to define what I consider to be a change.

I am getting the alarms I need form these sensors now.

Thanks again.

Cheers
