Acknowledged alerts disappear when the device is paused and unpaused

We have an access layer switch with a fault on one of its ports. The fault has been acknowledged in PRTG, turning it from a bright red colour to a dim red colour.

The group the device is located within is then paused as part of a change completed a few days later. We use the outage window for 2 hours. When the outage is lifted, the fault is no longer acknowledged. This is an issue for us as we then get emails to confirm that a device is down, which is a duplicate of tickets we already have.

How can we resolve this?

Acknowledged states don't survive reboots and being paused. This is due to the rescan of the sensor that is always triggered after PRTG being started or the sensor being unpaused. There is no way around that.
