Questions about clusters

License Q: Do fail over PRTG servers and the duplicate sensors on them count towards our sensor pool? Other Q: Based on what I have read is it true that if we have a cluster of two PRTG servers, both servers (Main and Fail over) are actively monitoring the same probes, even though the Main is still running? Or is the fail over only monitoring the Main and take over when Main cannot be reached anymore?

Hello there,

The sensor count is not affected. The Failover is basically like a mirror of the Master server, monitoring the same devices. All configuration details about which devices to monitor and their sensors are managed by the Master server during normal, also duplicating all configuration changes to the Failover, so that it can take over in case the Master server crashes.

Kind regards.
