PRTG App for Android and Media/Pictures Permissions

Hello, I was in the process of installing PRTG app for Android and it says it needs permissions to:

Photos/Media/Files Camera

Before installing, can someone give me a reasonable explanation on why it needs these permissions? If they are not necessary can PAESSLER release an app version without them?

The camera permission is required for the QR scanner feature. We will not release a version without that permission, but if you are running Android 6.0 or higher, feel free to revoke the Camera permission in the system settings - it will just disable the QR scanner, nothing else.
