In which web interface do I log in if the Master Node fails?

In case the Master Node fails and another cluster node becomes Master: How does a user know the URL of the right web interface? Is there an automatic redirection?

This article applies to PRTG Network Monitor 19 or later

Enter Another Node Server's URL Manually

There is no automatic redirection of the user interface if a user cannot connect to the master node server. In this case, the user must manually navigate to another (former) failover node server's URL or IP.

It is simply not possible for the web server of the crashed PRTG instance to redirect to the next node automatically.

Alternative: Auto-Redirect via DNS Service

You can use a DNS service that offers automatic re-configuration if the website of the master node is no longer reachable.

Note: To keep the installation and usage of the PRTG cluster as easy as possible, we do not use Windows Clustering features.
