Simple SNMP Sensor on External DrayTek Router

Votes:

0

I want to start rolling out PRTG to all of our clients to monitor Internet and Bandwidth.

I keep running into issues when trying to add the SNMP Sensor. I specify the external IP (188.39.102.170) of my client but get the error:

Sensor does not get response from device. SNMP credentials are wrong or device does not support the required uptime OID (1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.0) for traffic sensors. This OID is mandatory by the SNMP RFC. Check SNMP access rights or contact device vendor. (code: PE244)

The DrayTek has SNMP enabled but not sure what else to configure PRTG's end or on the DrayTek?

If we can get this working this would be huge for the company and would buy the full product if I can get this working.

Hello,

Thank you for your KB-Post. Please use our SNMP Tester, run it on the PRTG Host (or host of the Remote Probe), and perform a "Read Device Uptime" and then a "Scan available standard interfaces" against the target device. Which results do you get in the Tester? Please send us the result logfile from the Tester.

best regards.

I have even tried configuring V3 but this still didnt work.

I am running out of ideas why I cannot get SNMP working. I can however get PING sensor working but SNMP is what I need.

You are right, none of the SNMP Scans were successful. Just to check, I noticed you were doing the scans against the WAN interface of the router? Is that definitively enabled? Maybe check directly with Drytek?
