How can I assign a parent for a device?

Votes:

I want to assign some devices (for example, VM clients) to a particular parent (a VM host). Settings for the clients to not allow me to assign a specific parent (I can apply the parent device name as a tag). Similarly, the host device settings do not allow the assignment of dependent devices. Nor I drag the child into the parent on the maintenance screen for the device group. Any ideas?

The parent object of any object in PRTG is always either the device a sensor belongs to or the group where the device is a member of. Are you referring to parent tags? If so, all child items of an object will inherit the tags of their parent object.

In order to move an object (device or group) to a different group,
please right-click them and select Move > To Other Group...

Thank you. This is as simple as I thought it should be.
