Recover the setup files and license

Hi, I need to change the Prtg from the server that is actually installed, but the old system administrator didn't leave the setup files nor the serial, how can I get this?

Hi there.

You can find this within PRTG's web-interface. Within PRTG, head to Setup > PRTG Status. The're you'll locate the following information:

LICENSING

License NameFoo Bar Comapny

Activation StatusActivation OK.

If you're unable to log-in or if your account does not have the required access level (Administrator), check the following KB-Post to reset the prtgadmin's password:

You can contact us with the license information above and we'll be able to confirm the license status/owner/e-mail. Additionally, you can locate the installer for the currently running version in these folders on your current server:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\PRTG Network Monitor\PRTG Installer Archive\
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\PRTG Network Monitor\prtg-installer-for-distribution\
