How does PRTG pass credentials??

I am trying to connect to a NAS using the Folder Sensor. I have a special application that runs on the NAS that manages the authentication of shares somehow using SAMBA. The application is Egnyte.

My question is: How does PRTG pass credientials? And can the credientials that are passed be different than the login credentials on the Windows Server that PRTG runs on?

Each device can have its own credentials. Its under the settings tab of the device.

Depending on the sensor, different creds get passed.
