PRTG Network Monitor - SNMP Trap Receiver decoding bindings

Votes:

0

Hi,

I've recently installed PRTG Network Monitor and setup several Enterprise SNMP Sensors which uses SNMP GET and they work as expected. Also setup the SNMP Trap Receiver sensor and the traps are shown by PRTG Network Monitor.

Can you confirm if PRTG can decode the bindings section based on the Enterprise MIB and display meaning information of the varbinds and values?

Thanks & Regards, Anandha Krishnan

Hello Anandha Krishnan,

You can copy the manufacturer's MIB file into the directory

C:\Program Files (x86)\PRTG Network Monitor\MIB

This folder will also contain the mibparser.log file. This will allow you to check if the file could be successfully imported by PRTG. It will also show the erroneous lines. If the information of the traps is included, PRTG will translate the traps accordingly.

Best regards, Felix
