Monitoring two Ubuntu 16.10 VMs with PRTG. PRTG is generating huge session count. I dont see this behavior in my other debian 8 vms.

/var/log/syslog:

proxy systemd[1]: Started Session 3900 of user username after 60 seconds proxy systemd[1]: Started Session 3901 of user username proxy systemd[1]: Started Session 3902 of user username

etc.. with standard user and "sudo" option in prtg, both same behaviour. its unusable

1610 count session ubuntu

Hello m4ntic0r,

Thank you for your KB-post.

Have you already tried to change the SSH session timeout? The timeout needs to be lower than scan interval of the sensor is. Otherwise PRTG will open and open and open ... new sessions for each interval before the previous session is closed.

Kind regards,
Sven
