I have seen some old post where the tag filtering option doesn't work on geo maps and that still appears to be the case. Is there any way to filter by a sensor name? We only want to show VIP ping sensors on a geo map for full outages.

I'm afraid that this is still not possible, there have been no major changes to this feature I'm afraid. It's currently not possible to "influence" the data displayed in a Geo Map, it will only follow the device tree's layout.
