Write Values via SNMP

Votes:

Hello,

I have just installed PRTG at a school to start monitoring all of the network switches. It's really cool how I can view the System Information and it gives me info like SNMP Location, SNMP Contact etc.

However is it possible to update information like this from within PRTG and for PRTG to then write the changes to the switch?

I know I could log onto the switch itself and make the update, but was hoping to do this from PRTG itself.

Thanks Peter

Dear cojaxx8,

Thank you very much for your knowledge base post.

PRTG receives SNMP values from the device only and is not capable of changing/writing values on the device, I'm sorry.

Kind regards,
Sebastian
