Feature Request - HP ProCurve System Health Sensor

Votes:

Hi, we run several HP Procurve switches in our environment and it would be great to have a 'system health' sensor similar to what you have set up with other vendors. It would be very helpful to see the status of things like CPU, Memory, Fan, Power Supply, etc and be notified when one of those critical components have failed (or nearing failure).

I realize this is doable through custom SNMP, but having a pre-built sensor would save us (and anyone else who runs HP Procurve) a lot of time and hassle.

Thanks,

hp snmp system-health

Dear Aaron

Thank you for your input. Please let me give a realistic outlook. If you want to monitor your Procurve, please continue for the time being with SNMP Custom and possible Custom Table sensor. Device templates can be of help to add new devices more easily.

While we see the demand for Procurve monitoring, it is not yet at a level where we want to develop sensors. Please check if you can import MIB files using our MIB importer to use the SNMP Library sensor.

Edit: We now have an article which shows how to monitor these devices with SNMP Custom sensors.
