WMI MSSQL 2016 Sensor

Hi there !

We have a Windows Server 2012 R2 that includes Microsoft SQL Server 2016 running on it.

I have a PRTG account and when i click to add sensor, and select the 'database' section, i can't see Microsoft SQL 2016 WMI Sensor to add. There are other sensors on the database section such as WMI SQL Server 2012, 2014 etc. But There is no SQL 2016 Sensor.. What could be the problem in this case ?

Hi there,
thank you for your KB-Post.

Please make sure that your account is a PRTG Admin, or log-on as a PRTG admin when trying to add the sensor. Enter this exact string in the search field from the Add Sensor page: WMI Microsoft SQL Server 2016

There should only be a single result, which will be the correct sensor.

This applies to PRTG version 17.1.30.1681, the sensor may not be available in older PRTG Versions.
