Why does my VMware Host Performance (SOAP) sensor return with vm cpu values of 110%?

We use the VMware Host Performance (SOAP) sensor to monitor our vmware vm's. Occasionally we get an alarm that the cpu usage is above 100%.

How is this possible and how can we prevent that we get values above 100%?

Greetings

Hi there,

Please note that the values are monitored directly via the SOAP interface and the values are coming directly from the device itself. But, to avoid these values in PRTG, open the channel settings of the CPU channel and enable the "Spike Filter" option. There you can enter into the maximum field "100" for "100%".

Best regards.
