Hello there,
thank you for your inquiry.

In modern PRTG versions if you move or restore or re-install PRTG on a new system without deactivating the old one, it will work similar to a trial, with a temporary activation that will revert to freeware after 30 days.

I'm not sure if that answers your question. If no, please elaborate.

Our Version is 14.x, I need to test recovery on another server, I'm afraid that I restore the system , and give new IP address still affect the original system monitor,

Will this version affect the original monitoring? thanks~

Hello and thank you for your reply.

That shouldn't affect the original instance as the original instance is already running, but can lead to issues as the activation will fail and could cause issues if the original server is restarted. I advise you to enter a trial license on the new host in this case to prevent any kind of issues/interference to the original system.

Or, update to the latest PRTG version as the license management was greatly improved in recent versions.
