The PRTG Server in our Company has crashed two times within 7 Days. Refered to the Windows Event Log i have found that error entry:

The program PRTG GUI Starter.exe version 16.1.21.1422 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel. Process ID: c18 Start Time: 01d2b8d4069bea38 Termination Time: 0 Application Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\PRTG Network Monitor\PRTG GUI Starter.exe Report Id: 5b3fe001-24c7-11e7-80d8-005056a03b22 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID:

After restarting the PRTG Services on the Server, it was fine. Haven't found any reason for that problem. I also checked the Logfiles for misterious entries, had no luck.

What can occur that kind of error?

Hello Sascha,

PRTG GUI Starter.exe usually has "nothing to do" when PRTG is running. It's just a little "helper" that when being executed simply starts the browser and redirects to your PRTG installation.

You could send us a support bundle so we can analyze the logs and see what we can find.

Kind regards,

Erhard
