Various Questions for a new user

Good day,

Thank you for the product you have created, it is certainly helpful.

I have several questions about the configuration of data and settings within the application.

1. When the application is installed, it automatically selects a port for the webserver. In my case 8081. I already have another program running on the same server with this port. How do I change the port?

2. How is data stored, can I access it or can I change to a MSSQL DB? The reason why this is important, we make use of Qlik for all our reporting and I need to create a dashboard that will show up time. While it is great that PRTG shows it, I need to be able to get the data into Qlik and a standalone reporting tool will be insufficient.

Regards,

access database ports

Hi Han,

  1. You can change the web server settings via the PRTG Administrator Tool or via the
Setup | System Administration | User Interface page.
  2. PRTG uses its own file based database, therefore it's not possible to use an SQL based database. Nevertheless, you can use PRTG's API to export data of particular sensors. This is described on the Setup | PRTG API | Historic Data page.

Best regards, Felix
