Anyone else having this problem with the SaaS Check sensor? Started to happen a couple of days ago. Checking manually, I cannot reach the URL https://api.datamarket.azure.com/Bing/Search/* from several different locations

Hi Yuval,

We're aware of the issue and are currently looking into fixing it. It will probably work again with one of the next PRTG updates, but no ETA yet.

Sorry, but that's not cool. We have a warning in the monitoring that we get questioned about in the audits. Is there at least a workaround?

Hi,

Sorry, should've mentioned it in my earlier post. For the time being, lower the error - limit of the sensor from 90 to 80%. You can use the Multi-Edit to change the limit from 90 to 80 in the
Channel Settings of all Custom SaaS Sensors at once.

Hi,

I've been quietly expecting this to be fixed as well.

I would like to point out that this sensor started failing ON THE VERY SAME DAY that the news about Bing being used to sourced leaked unique access keys.

No doubt Microsoft did a quick'n'dirty fix to their Bing API, which I guess is the root cause of the sensor failing...?

Anyway, lately I have seen some life signs for this sensor, not sure why :) http://imgur.com/a/K4DuR

Hi Dag,

Hehe :D Didn't know about that! But we're working on fixing the sensor by using their new API :)

Apparently an update to the Edge browser caused single-url secret URLs to be indexed in Bing, leading to people using Bing to find all sorts of information.

My Bing sensor in the Common Saas Check started failing around 23:00 on the 19th of May.. I won't believe that's a coincidence! :)

More information here (in Norwegian). It was big in the news in Norway around May 19-20th, but I haven't been able to find an English source for it. http://itavisen.no/2017/05/20/stor-datalekkasje-har-lekket-folsom-informasjon-til-bing-i-minst-to-maneder/ https://nsm.stat.no/aktuelt/sokbare-persondata-i-sokemotorer/

I wonder if people are more concerned about a possible issue with Bing, or just dislike the common SAAS sensor not being at 100%...
